About Lee County
The southwestern-most County in the Commonwealth of Virginia, bordered on the south by Tennessee and on the north and west by Kentucky, Lee County has three incorporated towns: Pennington Gap, St. Charles and the County seat of Jonesville. In fact, Lee County borders exactly two counties each in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia.
Constitutional Oaks Industrial Park, near Rose Hill, has been recently completed and finding industrial tenants is the main economic development focus of the county. The park has taken over 10 years to fully develop: water, sewer, natural gas and 3-phase power are on site and an onsite cell tower is currently under construction.
The major tourism focuses currently are development of the Spearhead Trails system (the Lee County Phase I is currently under construction) as well as the total renovation of the historic Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap.
