Buchanan County, Virginia is located in the Cumberland Plateau of Southwest Virginia. We welcome visitors throughout the year to experience our rolling countryside’s abundance of natural beauty. Just west of Grundy is Breaks Interstate Park, “The Grand Canyon of the South,” offering a multitude of recreational activities year round. Take a journey along the Virginia Coal Heritage Trail or the Artisan Trail which run through the county; or stop by one of our beautiful county parks which are ideal for picnics, family reunions or just a relaxing visit.
